For many years, the old barn served as a warehouse for tractors and hay, until one day a man bought it and decided to build a house there.

Before the purchase, the locals disliked the barn because it was too unpretentious. When a millionaire chose it for housing, the eccentric man immediately drew ridicule. Over the next 15 years, the barn owner talked behind his neighbors’ backs until he invited them to visit.

Alan Yeomans bought an old barn in Derbyshire and converted it into a house. As for him, he had a plan. Despite the fact that it was a barn, he wanted to preserve its historical appearance. The barn’s exterior was insulated a little, but the materials were the same as those used for agricultural buildings. In some areas of the facade, he used old stone, giving the building an even more neglected appearance, according to the neighbors.

The front side was brighter, but the neighbors couldn’t see it. Despite his wealth, Alan wore simple clothes, and neighbors were happy to talk about their eccentric neighbor. Eventually, the man decided to host a barbecue, inviting people around to visit.

While creating his house, Alan revealed his plan here. He created a spacious interior behind the nondescript barn facade. The building had no traces of its past. There are original paintings on the walls, gold inlays, antique furniture, and new appliances.

A garage was built in part of the house. Yeomans was fond of collecting classic cars, as it turned out. The same day, there was no mockery. However, the man no longer communicated with his neighbors.
