It has been 11 years since the girl left her family and was considered missing. As her relatives had already given up all searches, they discovered she had been living in a nearby house all this time. Sajita left her home quietly in 2010 after packing her bags. Since she didn’t take a mobile phone with her, it was impossible to locate her in vast India. Sajita’s relatives, however, never gave up hope.

After Alinchuvattil Rahman, the man who lived next door, disappeared, the situation changed drastically. In another village, his brother noticed her and drew attention to her. Yes, it was Sajita.Sajita had simply moved to Rahman’s house, which was further down the street, in February 2010 instead of running away. Rahman never showed his family her small room where she lived for 11 years.

Rahman had a dispute with his family in 2021, took Sajita, and moved to another village.Their families would never have consented to their marriage because they came from different castes. “So they had to hide,” Rahman’s brother told journalists. There is a positive ending to the story.Rahman and Sajita are no longer forced to hide from their relatives after the local court approved their marriage.
