Usually, people wait for the holidays to meet their friends and dine together, as it is the most beautiful and awaited time of the year. It is true, however, that not everyone can afford such a luxurious lifestyle.
There are some people who ignore holidays because they don’t have close relatives or a family to share them with. Even those who are happy to be fed from others’ leftovers are welcome on those days. Therefore, Carmen Mendes and her boyfriend went for a walk and dinner one day during the holidays.
She noticed a homeless woman at the front door as they waited for their fresh meal at a restaurant. Passengers and diners were asked to give her leftovers. Some people ignored her, while others threw their scraps in front of her and passed her by. Carmen was so touched by the scene that she decided to give hers, with respect and a smile. Her meal was handed to her at the entrance, but she felt that there was something wrong with it. Her experience with the homeless had earned her a special respect for them. As soon as she changed her mind, she asked the woman to sit down and eat a fresh meal.
The woman requested that Carmen order fresh chicken strips with fried potatoes for dinner. This kind gesture moved the woman to tears and impressed her greatly! They hugged each other emotionally afterwards!
