Make-up artist Gemma Horner demonstrated to the Transformation audience what make-up is capable of.
Amy Smith, the mother of the alternative model, burst into tears after the transformation, and her youngest son could not recognize her. Amy is 23 years old. Over the past ten years, she has decorated her body with tattoos and piercings. In addition, fifty of her tattoos are not only applied to her body. Along with a dozen piercings, she has several drawings on her face.
She has especially densely painted forearms and necks. As a teenager, she got her first tattoo. At the age of eighteen, Amy started working in a tattoo parlor. It is common for Amy to face rejection from others and even outright hatred despite the support she receives from her family and friends. In spite of her appearance, she considers tattooing a form of self-expression. For the girl, taking part in the TV show was a bold experiment and an opportunity to change the way she looked at herself. The make-up artist applied make-up over Amy’s tattoos in order to match her skin tone. Amy admitted that she was extremely nervous during the process. Several hours later, Gemma Horner had completely hidden the traces of the drawings, as well as curled the girl’s fiery hair. Amy was the first person to glance in the mirror. A few minutes later, she went to see her mother and stepfather in the next room.
In both cases, the reaction was the same – a smile through tears. When Amy’s mother called her a beauty, the girl herself was shocked. As if she were face-to-face with a stranger, she felt uncomfortable. Amy went to the garden to pick up the children after filming, where another surprise awaited her. His youngest son walked past her, not recognizing the girl with curls and no tattoos as his mother. Both Amy’s beauty and the make-up artist’s work were equally appreciated by the audience. The girl, however, said that now she was more convinced than ever that fifty tattoos were not a limit. She will cover them all over her body in the future.
