A police officer adopted a four-year-old girl who had been abused by her biological parents

According to neighbors, parents mocked their two-year-old daughter at a house in 2018, according to police lieutenant Brian Zack.

He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the child for the first time. He saw a small body covered with bruises and abrasions. Her parents did all of this for her. An ambulance was called by the policeman. When Brian returned home, he told his wife everything that had happened. They decided to care for the child while the court decides custody. Brian never left Kayla’s bed while she was in the hospital. His family was already waiting for the baby when he brought the child home after discharge. She began calling Brian dad, and Sierra mom, after a few days of being surrounded by love.

The policeman took over the girl’s education. Kayla was first taught how to read and write by him. There was a lot of walking and traveling involved. We didn’t know what the court would decide on every day,” says Brian Zack. The investigation revealed that the biological parents constantly mistreated the child. Kayla could not be returned to them, therefore. Their parental rights were revoked. There was no one among the relatives who wanted to arrange her custody.

In the end, the judge allowed Brian to take care of the baby and to arrange custody. The family of the policeman who saved the girl adopted her after four years. Brian’s colleagues are proud of what he did. As a member of the Zack family, the baby will grow up kind and warm-hearted. She now has someone to take care of her, and she is loved.
