The German Shepherd saved the life of his owner by treading water for at least 11 hours

A brave German Shepherd surprised everyone in Brisbane with his heroic actions. Her owner was rescued after the dog treaded water for over 11 hours.

Some fishermen noticed the dog swimming nonstop around some floating objects and suspected something was wrong. As soon as they called Moreton Bay police, they received immediate assistance. They were rescued later by a helicopter, four police vessels, and the Coast Guard.

They first pulled the exhausted, poor dog out of the water and took her to a local vet clinic. The dog, Heidi, had no injuries, fortunately. The rescue team found Heidi’s owner a few minutes after rescuing the dog. An old man was climbing on the sunken boat.

He later explained that his 13.5-foot vessel was losing power, taking on water, and sinking. He was separated from his clever dog at that very moment. Until the fishmen noticed Heidi, she had been swimming 11 hours.

Fortunately, the owner was not only saved but also did not sustain any injuries. As a result, his brave and faithful dog saved his life. A safety reminder was issued by the police department following this incident.
