One day, May Etchenson from County Antrim in beautiful Northern Ireland came up with the brilliant idea to knit a model of her own house.

What’s the point?
She took up this curious project because she loves knitting. That was just the beginning. In a circle of knitters, May showed her friends the house she had made.

They then decided to knit the entire village of Clochmills, where they live, by joining their efforts. As they met every Wednesday, they gradually realized their unusual plan.

A full layout of the city was created, including all the main objects: the post office, pubs and shops, as well as the old shirt factory and flax mill. There is also a playground and a garden plot with cauliflower planted in it. Mrs. Etchenson’s husband, Edgar, helped the enthusiasts buy fabrics and tools. Knitted fabric is used for the village model.

One and a half thousand people have already seen this outstanding work of knitting art (in a village of just one thousand This masterpiece’s creators are hoping to raise £3,000 to donate to charity. Our best wishes go out to these lovely ladies in their noble endeavors!
