The cleaning lady worked in the elite house for 20 years but lost her job: see what residents did about it

A woman cleaned an elite apartment in a New York skyscraper every day for 20 years.

Rosa had to move in with her sister after losing her job. In spite of this, the residents of the house chipped in and rented her a real penthouse. Having moved into such an elite apartment is rare, everyone in the house knew Rosa. Therefore, the woman’s situation quickly spread to her neighbors – she lost her main job, was unable to pay her own rent, and moved in with her sister on the outskirts of the Bronx. Housemates began to think of ways to help Rosa without offending her.

The plan came together quickly: the tenants contributed to renting a penthouse and prepared all the keys and documents. She was invited as if for a routine cleaning, but she didn’t realize what was waiting for her until the very end. Rosa has been coming to our apartments for 20 years, so everyone knows and loves her. “We couldn’t leave her in such a situation,” one of the tenants later said. The cleaning woman was escorted to the penthouse “for cleaning.” The owner gave her a tour of the apartment, a luxurious four-bedroom with a large terrace. Rosa was obviously impressed.

After the tour, the man gave the lady a contract to sign and explained everything to her. Rose has complete access to the penthouse for the next two years. She was very touched when the residents filmed her reaction. Rosa’s story quickly spread across the internet, resulting in a lot of positive comments. Some people, however, were still upset – they pointed out that even after 20 years of work, one might not own an apartment.
