Melissa McCabe, 16, graduated from high school in the summer of 2022. Arthur, Melissa’s one-and-a-half-year-old son, accompanied her to the prom as is customary.
Melissa wanted to include her son in the most important day of her life. To attend her son’s graduation, she bought him a suit with a jacket and a bow tie.
Melissa says she and Arthur became a sensation – everyone, including teachers, was touched by a wonderful boy, wanted to hold him in their arms, and admired how amazing he looked in a suit. Melissa was now being praised by teachers who had ignored her during her studies.

Despite being just 15 years old, Melissa gave birth to Arthur in November 2020 and is raising him on her own. Despite the difficulty, she does not give up. People often mistake Arthur for her little brother, and when they discover that this is a girl’s child, they begin to judge her. In spite of all odds, Melissa passed her exams and plans to start college in September.
