Romeo Cox, a schoolboy from Palermo, and his father Phil walked to London to see Grandma Rosemary on June 20.

It took them almost three thousand kilometers to cross Italy, Switzerland, and France. Despite many dangers, the journey turned out to be an incredible experience. To tame a wild donkey in the UK, dad and son fought off stray dogs in Rome. The travelers walked through mountains and dense forests, sailed on a boat, rode bicycles, and rode donkeys. It would have been easier for Romeo to walk this distance rather than ride because riding was so uncomfortable.

They slept wherever they could – in churches, hostels, campsites, and even on strangers’ floors. In addition to meeting travelers, many offered them a delicious dinner and the chance to relax. After 93 days on the road, Romeo and his father finally reached Trafalgar Square on September 21.

We got off track several times.Sleeping under a hornet’s nest was not a good idea. As the student recalls, “we never gave up.”After a two-week quarantine, grandmother Rosemary and her grandson finally met. After 93 days of traveling, the boy finally hugged her. Now that Romeo was safe, she could breathe more easily. As the family returned home to Southborough Road, the neighbors applauded loudly.

Some even walked with father and son to Rosemary’s house from Trafalgar Square. Romeo then told the details of his amazing adventure at a small party with cake and champagne.
