Modern life can be so busy and full of distractions that we forget to spend time with those who really matter.
The importance of maintaining good relations with family members cannot be overstated. The family is the people who will help you no matter what. Unfortunately, sometimes we miss out on seeing distant relatives. Five generations of Berry family members visited Annie Berry for her 105th birthday, giving her unforgettable memories. Olivia, the youngest member of the family, was as sweet as a grandmother, according to Berry.
A time in history when segregation was widespread throughout the world, Berry was born in Meridian. During her early years, she picked cotton and husked corn, and saw the world change several times. There is, of course, a marked difference between Olivia’s world and Berry’s.
Given their 105-year age difference, this is not surprising. Olivia received clear instructions from Berry: My wish for you is that you would be kind, loving, and do what your mother tells you to do. There is no doubt that Annie Berry deserves respect and reverence. Years later, Olivia will realize that her great-great-grandmother was present when she met her!
