Making their first money from a lemonade stand is a tradition for most kids. Blake Work, a six-year-old from Florida, is not interested in business and profits.
He doesn’t accept money or serve lemonade at his booth. Free toys and books are offered to children from low-income families by him. Blake’s mother asked him to clean his room one evening. Blake clearly wasn’t enthusiastic about such a prospect – after all, how many toys will need to be sorted! In his own words, when the boy learned that not all children have so many toys, and some don’t have any at all, his “heart pounded painfully.” However, Blake did not have to be sad for long – the solution to the problem soon dawned on him.
A banner that read “Cheer up!” adorned his breakfast table the following day with his favorite toys. Blake Work’s house is waiting for you! Free toys are waiting for you! ” Under the hot sun, Blake waited patiently. Across the street, a builder was working on a house when he visited his booth. Blake handed him his beloved robot, which he promised to send to his grandson in Belize. Blake traded two toys with the next guests, a family with two children. Blake gave four books at once to this family, despite their difficult financial situation.
Blake’s teacher stopped by to tell him how proud she was of him at the end of the day. Blake gave the remaining toys to the school so that they could be given to children for good behavior. The captain even tried to give away his favorite cap with Captain America’s emblem, but he was dissuaded. Blake stayed in the booth all day. To make sure he didn’t miss anyone, he brought his fold-out sleeping chair outside. Despite his small size, he has a big heart.
