Baby Pink Dolphin Born To An Extremely Rare Species

What’s more eye-catching than a pink dolphin? Perhaps a pink dolphin and her tiny calf. The mother dolphin, Pinky, has been spotted swimming with her young baby dolphin in Louisiana’s Calcasieu Lake. The baby looks just like her mother.

Her unique bottlenose dolphin behavior was first observed in 2007, when boat caption Erik Rue observed her swimming alongside her gray mother. Pinky became a local celebrity after he took some photos of her. Everyone’s sailing experience on the Calcasieu river is something to look forward to.

Seeing such a majestic creature was a blessing for Captain Rue, who lives and works in a region where such animals reside. This mammal is entirely pink throughout and has reddish-orange eyes. Its skin appears flawless and smooth. Watch the video below.

Dolphins with albinism have unusual colors. In other words, she doesn’t produce enough pigment in her body. In this respect, Pinky doesn’t have gray skin, but a bright pink shade, and her eyes are reddish. Pinky looks very healthy in spite of her rare condition, and giving birth is such a joyous occasion.

‘’Greg Barsh swims at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology nearly every day throughout the summer.’’ She has been swimming a lot lately. It looks like she’s in good health.”

The baby dolphin she was swimming with was discovered to be Pinky’s mother. One of the dolphins has been spotted again recently by Bridget Boudreaux. According to the woman representing KATC, the experience was mesmerizing: “It was amazing to see.” Wow! I was astonished. When it first came out of the water, I was like, ‘Whoa!’ Look at that pink dolphin! Get off the boat!’’

The KATC viewers thought ‘Brain’ would be an appropriate name since Pinky and her daughter are Disney characters.” Both dolphin and her mom are reminiscent of the cartoon couple from ‘Pinky and the Brain’.
