Tortoises can live up to 80 years.When they are old, they enjoy their remaining life without having to worry about raising new children. Nigrita, the tortoise named, was at the age when she gave birth for the first time. At this point, one realizes that age is just a number.
It is not only the happiness of the mother tortoise but also of all wildlife lovers that the endangered species is able to give birth at such a late age as the tortoise is a real hero. Nagrita lives in the Zoo Zürich in Switzerland. Its lifespan can reach 150 years. The tortoise is considered a long-lived species.
In nature, there are about ten Galapagos tortoises. Nigrita was able to give birth to healthy babies within the framework of a breeding program. Apparently, these species only give birth after 40 years of age.
Therefore, it’s not surprising that this tortoise is used in a breeding program at such an old age. Even though Nigrita is old, she takes care of her babies with love and responsibility! 
The little tortoises’ father is 54-year-old Jumbo. We are happy to learn that these tortoises continue to exist thanks to concerned individuals!
