In mid-November, Sarah Moore and Lindsey Golden were involved in an accident. A mountain lion attacked their pets, 15-year-old chiweenie Mijo and dachshund Winston, in their yard, according to Fox 5 News.

An elderly dog was snatched up by the predator, who evidently thought it would be easy pickings. However, she had no idea who she would have to deal with just yet. The short-legged Winston yelled a resounding yelp as he attempted to repel his friend. She tossed the chiweenie and bolted when he charged at her. Winston is Mijo’s best friend. When he yelled, I wasn’t surprised that Winston came to his aid,” Sarah said.

Little dachshunds are known for their gentle hearts, according to their owners. The guy is always willing to help those in need, and he is a real buddy. After the attack, the dogs were taken to a veterinary clinic. Winston was unharmed, but Mijo suffered severe injuries. Sadly, he had to have his right eye removed because it could not be saved. During the night, the dog also suffered a stroke. Doctors believe the mountain lion’s sharp teeth may have injured the dog’s nerve, requiring a lengthy and expensive treatment.

As a result, Sarah and Lindsey turned to the crowdfunding portal Go Fund Me for assistance. So far, they have raised approximately $13,000.The money will be used for treatment and rehabilitation of the animal.
