The horse had an unusual and incredible story a year and a half ago. She couldn’t believe her luck when an identical pair of twins were born to Tania Mackee’s horse. These new twins – a filly and a colt – are not identical, but they are still incredibly rare.
According to experts, there is a 10000 to 1 chance of identical cubs being born! A veterinarian previously examined the horse, but did not find twins in her womb. According to experts, horses cannot bear and give birth to more than one foal because of their anatomy. While Tania understood how hard it was for the mare to bear, give birth and feed babies, the mare became a mother of beautiful foals. After giving Fate a rest, the breeder decided to get a new offspring again.
McKee used an Irish sports horse with an excellent pedigree for these purposes. During the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, the stallion participated. Two pairs of twins were born to a 19-year-old mare in 18 months! It is extremely rare to successfully carry twins twice, so such cases are truly unique.
