A Texas animal shelter received Melodia last month. Nobody knew anything about the other animal’s previous life before she was taken to the shelter. In spite of her condition, it was clear that her owners no longer cared about her.
Melodia, however, quickly realized that she would have difficulty escaping her current situation. She was sent to a shelter with ten adorable puppies after giving birth to a litter.
Even though Melodia was lighter, she made sure her kids ate well. When animal rights advocates learned about the dog’s plight, they did everything in their power to help her. Her Facebook post led to the discovery of a foster family.
Her new foster family transformed her physically and spiritually. In addition to feeling confident about her own security, she was also confident about the security of her children.
The babies she produced were absolutely amazing, healthy, and well-cared for. A rescue center was able to save this puppy, but there are many more like him.
