Rio has been through a lot. After being stuck at the top of a gigantic palm tree for two weeks, he risked severe dehydration. Fortunately, the residents mobilized to save him. Due to this, his family was able to locate him everywhere since he disappeared.

Due to the help of the entire community, Rio, a 3-year-old alley cat, was finally able to get down from the Phoenix palm tree in which he had been perched for 2 weeks. Dehydration and malnutrition were ravaging the unfortunate. So an immediate solution was necessary. This was before the toxic spikes on the tree’s fronds prevented any ascent. In order to rescue him, Animal Rescue New Zealand’s (HARNZ) Hawira rescue group, the RSPCA, firefighters, a drone pilot, and an arborist were mobilized. By using a remote-controlled aircraft, the feline was able to be precisely located. Next, the firefighters positioned their aerial fire basket so that the pruner could lay out a cage-trap containing food and water from the shelters. Jedie, a HARNZ spokesperson, told 1 News that it was wired securely so it would be safe.

Rio took a long time to be convinced, but the hunger finally won. By 8 p.m., we saw that he was locked up and had a full stomach,” Jedie explained. As a result, the unfortunate was able to descend in complete safety. It was only a matter of finding its owners that remained. The cat had a means of identification, which was a blessing. A few minutes after his beloved cat was rescued, Brad Larsen received a phone call from his owner.Since Rio ran away three weeks ago, he had been looking for him. The recent arrival of a puppy in the family did indeed disturb him. Following his terrible experience, Rio has returned to his warm home where he has quickly recovered. In addition, the cohabitation with the young dog is going well.
