It is amazing how different species can form friendships. This time, it is a special relationship that has lasted more than 11 years. Deer Buttons and her Golden Retriever best friend G-Bro.
Lorrie, the human of G-Bro, had no idea how to care for the deer when she rescued her. One of her friends had experience raising deer, so she called him to learn how to foster one. Buttons soon became part of Lorrie’s family. G-Bro, her wonderful dog, was especially close to her. Upon releasing Buttons into the wilds, she came back, much to Lorries surprise. Her kind family visited her almost every day. Without her family, who loved her and were so kind to her, she couldn’t live. G-Bro was one of the reasons for her daily visits. There was an incredible bond between them.
Whenever Buttons needed help, she appeared again, showing her babies and asking for help. Her best friend, G-Bro, who shared her maternal duties without hesitation, was especially helpful to her. G-Bro was so excited when he saw the deer’s babies for the first time. The little creatures adored their dad, who became their father.
He played with them, took care of them, and protected them. He licked them all the time, was gentle, affectionate. So every day, Buttons appeared at the front door, asking G-Bro to come out. Even knocked with her paw at the door, but nobody answered. Without waiting for an invitation, she walked in when the door was open. Buttons still considers herself a member of the family.
They loved being outdoors, hiking, spending time together, playing in the snow, but their favorite activity was cleaning each other. Hopefully, their 11-year friendship will last a long time and bring them joy and happiness.
