This story is about an elderly woman who is 100 years old. It was a noble and responsible decision she made. The next step is to get an older dog from a shelter.

Interestingly, this old woman chose to take an old dog instead of a young one. She might have made such a decision because she knows how lonely and hard old age can be, regardless of whether you are a human or a dog. Pets were not allowed by Joanna Carrington’s parents as a child.

She decided to come off to the fullest after becoming an adult and getting married. Finally, fulfill your childhood dream of owning a pet. Consequently, she and her husband had eight dogs at the same time! When she was a child, life was beautiful, just as she imagined. Recently, Carrington lost both her husband and dog. Having lived such a happy and cheerful life for so many years, her pain and loneliness became unbearable.

She realized that living only on memories was not going to make her live long. It was clear to her that something had to be done. It was her main goal to get rid of loneliness and find a goal she could live for. Even though she wanted another dog, she was afraid the shelter would not accept an older owner. That woman was so wrong! Gucci is an elderly Chihuahua that Carrington’s neighbor found for her as a volunteer.

It was with great pleasure that Joanna became the owner of Gucci, an 11-year-old dog. As soon as the dog walked into Joanna’s house, she climbed into her lap. Her pets helped her live such a long life, according to Carrington. In addition, older people who have pets tend to be happier and more active, not just her opinion.
