During a walk near the ranch, a couple’s dog behaved very unusually and began digging furiously. Initially, people thought the pet had smelt a rodent in the ground. In the end, they picked up a shovel and looked at the reason.

A rusty can appeared on the surface not resembling a field mouse. The most interesting thing, however, was what awaited the people inside. The jar was filled to the brim with old gold coins. The financial situation of John and Mary has seen better days. As they walked around the district on an evening walk, they discussed the possibility of selling a portion of their land. Near a small hill a few meters away, their dog suddenly leaned forward sharply and began digging furiously.

It looked like the dog was behaving in an unusual manner. They investigated the reason for such a sharp interest in their pet by going after it. According to John, the animal smelled a field mouse or other steppe rodent. However, there were no visible signs of a hole on the surface. Having smelled something in the ground, the man returned with a shovel to dig. As the bayonet of the shovel rested on a hard object, he made a couple of strokes. Approximately 20 minutes later, an old rusty metal can appeared on the surface, which had apparently been there for a very long time. The lid fell off of the heavy tin I was holding” – John told reporters later.

The jar was filled with coins. The jar was hidden a long time ago. John checked out the place with a metal detector. Six more cans were found the following day. As it turned out, the coins were over a century old. After the find was valued at $10 million, it quickly solved the couple’s financial problems.
