There were already three dogs in Lauren Smith Greeno’s home. However, she realized there was still room for one more in her house and in her heart.

In search of someone who would touch her heart, the woman leafed through shelter websites every day. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw Ginnie.Immediately, I felt a connection with her. “I wanted to hug her so badly.” The woman realized that she had found the one she had been searching for all her life in those huge, sad eyes.

In the yard before the shelter, Ginnie had lived on a leash so short that she could not lie down. No walks were taken with her, she wasn’t allowed to play, and she was never allowed to lay on a soft sofa. For bad dogs, her life was hell. Ginnie’s littermates were taken immediately.

Despite being modest, she lived in the shelter for six months. Lauren was captivated by Ginnie’s friendliness from the first meeting – the dog is ready to cuddle with anyone who shows her a little love. As Lauren planned, Ginnie’s temporary home would be Lauren’s house, just a stop on her way to a brighter future. She realized pretty quickly that she would never be able to let her go.

Lauren placed the dog in the back seat so that she had enough personal space in the car. As soon as the car moved, Ginnie jumped on her rescuer’s lap and began to lick her face. Lauren melted into a puddle. Overwhelmed, she was crying. It was so touching to see Ginnie.

She began introducing the new family member to her three tailed friends when Lauren arrived home with a new family member. Ginnie quickly settled in despite appearing intimidated. Lauren invited Ginnie into the bedroom on the second day. In bed, the woman patted the pillow next to her.

After jumping on the bed without a moment’s hesitation, the dog fell as if knocked down. She let out a sigh of relief as soon as the dog’s head touched the pillow. While lying there with her eyes wide open, she seemed surprised and deeply happy at the same time. Lauren realized that Ginnie had a home at that point.
