A Rottweiler saved a man’s life by opening the door to paramedics

A Rottweiler named Megan has been hailed as a hero dog after she opened the ER door for paramedics while her owner lay unconscious.

Gary Gregory, 32, of Felixstowe, Suffolk, the dog’s owner, suddenly fell ill. Before he passed out and fell, he called an ambulance. The presence of stones in Gary’s gallbladder necessitated an endoscopy, and when he returned home, he felt unwell. He lost consciousness because of internal bleeding the next morning.

A closed door prevented the paramedics from entering the house when the ambulance arrived. They heard a big dog jumping inside, right at the front door, and at first they thought it was an aggressive dog trying to scare them. Megan heard the paramedics arriving at the front door and acted immediately. Running to the front door, she turned the handle and tried to open it. Gary and Sean had previously taught Megan how to unlock the common lock and enter the house by pressing the inside door handle. In case one of them forgot the keys at home, they did this.

The house also had two other dogs: a black Labrador named Heidi and a pug named Hugo. Heidi and Hugo licked Gary’s face after he passed out to try to revive him. She jumped several times at the door before she finally managed to push the handle and open the doors so the paramedics could enter. Gary would have died if the doctors hadn’t come to him sooner, due to severe internal bleeding. “They thought the dog was trying to scare them away, but she was actually trying to let them in. Gary Gregory later explained that Megan understood that I was in serious trouble. As soon as they realized this, they wanted the police to break down the door, which would have been too late for me.

Gary woke up several times after falling to the floor, but he was too weak to get up. Heidi and Hugo licked his face as he called his friend Sean to tell him he loved him. He remembers waking up in the hospital already. Megan is just a gentle giant despite what people say about Rottweilers. It is without a doubt that she saved my life. I am very grateful to her.” Gary’s endoscopy was sloppy, according to doctors. Now that the bleeding has been stopped, the man will undergo surgery to remove gallstones. Meghan’s act proved once again that dogs can feel when something bad happens to their owners, and they want to help them. As long as Megan is next to us, everything will be fine,” says Gary.
