Imagine crawling, leaning on your wrists, wherever you go.Siggi, a 13-week-old rat terrier, would have lived like this his entire life. It was more likely that he would be euthanized.

A small terrier born with upside-down paws was rescued by kind people who wanted to help. There were no fractures or injuries. That’s how the puppy was born. According to experienced surgeon Eric Clary, the elbows were turned almost 180 degrees during birth, which forced the paws upward.

Siggi was adopted from a Dallas dog shelter when she was just 13 weeks old. She was perfectly normal for a puppy her age. In spite of her twisted paws, Siggi loved to play and wag her tail. She was also forced to move on bent hind legs, leaning on her wrists as a result. Her quality of life was obviously affected. No matter what, the shelter decided to help the puppy.

By chance, a similar operation had already been performed at the Veterinary University clinic. Gabriela Iribar and Eric Clary rescued Milo. The Dallas shelter entrusted Siggi to these people. After a month and a half, Gabriela and Siggi were discharged from the hospital. In the end, the puppy was returned to the shelter. It would take a long time for her to recover.

Siggi had to learn how to use her new paws. Practicing walking again. Lorraine took her under her wing as a young doctor.Siggi was getting stronger and better. Now that the dog has grown up, she lives an ordinary dog’s life, running and playing along with her friends as befits a puppy.
