All living creatures on this planet deserve to live a normal life. The wild is a better place for majestic animals like lions than small cages in circuses. In the ocean, intelligent aquatic mammals like beluga whales are at their happiest. Freedom is important to people, and it is also important to these.

You will love these photos of Little Grey and Little White, two belugas. When released back into the ocean, they smile when they taste the sea for the first time. Off the coast of Russia, this adorable beluga whale duo was captured in 2011.Since then, the pair have been hosted by Chengfeng Ocean World in China.

As a result of a relocation project that has been years in the making, Little Grey and Little White were returned to the ocean after 9 years in captivity. They flew 6,000 miles to Iceland to stay at the Beluga Whale Sanctuary, run by the British charity Sea Life Trust.

Just look at the whales’ large smiles during the transfer if you have any doubts about freedom. Their faces were filled with happiness. They were being waved by the blue ocean. What could be better?

Beluga Whale Sanctuary is an open-water sanctuary that allows belugas to adapt to Iceland’s colder climate. Little Grey and Little White returned to the sea several months after their release.

It was not an easy task to move two belugas. Each weighs more than a ton (2,000 pounds) and consumes about 110 pounds of fish per day. Water, ice, and veterinarians are needed to keep them hydrated during the journey.

Thankfully, everything went smoothly. The ocean is now home to a pair of adorable beluga whales. I love being free!
