A five-week-old tabby baby with special needs was recently adopted by Danielle Southon, founder of Southon Rescue and Central Florida Fosters. Having obvious health problems, she had been taken from the street to city animal services.
There were other birth defects in the baby with Manx syndrome (tailless). A part of its spine and tail are fused, which limits its hindlimb mobility. Her spine, tail, and leg bones were formed while she was in the womb.
In spite of everything, the brave girl never gave up and strove to move and play. For short, Minerva, or Minnie, was the kitten’s affectionate nickname.
Currently, she is undergoing physical therapy to improve her range of motion, and she is being potty trained by an assistant. Although she is very small for her age, she is determined and optimistic.
She loves to misbehave, is inquisitive, and wants to know what her mom is up to. Whenever her people are around her, she won’t even let them go to the bathroom.
The kitten’s nest was built in the shower so that Danielle could watch over her from a safe distance, but Minnie is completely fearless. When Minnie visited the vet several times for stomach problems, she felt much better.
She became much more playful and restless after the rescue. With her newfound energy, she quickly explored every corner in a joyous and unrealistic manner. She could not let her physical limitations stand in the way of her favorite activities.
She made significant progress within a week. Toys are her favorite thing, and she meows for attention all the time. In her new life as a spoiled pet, a former homeless woman is living the life of a celebrity. As soon as they approach her, she purrs and meows.
Her schedule and timing for taking medications are determined, as well as how sensitive her hind legs are. Minnie has a bright future ahead of her! Let your friends and family know if you found it interesting!
