Brazilian Juan Pereira de Souz treated a penguin after diving into an oil slick in 2011. A weary penguin was discovered on the beach in Rio de Janeiro in 2011 by Joo Pereira de Souz, 71, a bricklayer by trade but a fisherman by passion.

The animal was completely covered in a thick, dark liquid, as if it had been caught in an oil slick in the water and died slowly. An infant was brought to the man’s house and cared for until he was completely healed. The pet was then set free under the name Dindim (a moniker Juan gave it). The man continued living his life as usual.

Imagine his amazement when he encountered the grown-up Dindim near his residence after a few months. There was no desire for the penguin to leave because he was in good health.

After spending every year with his savior from June to February, he returns to his native environment to breed off the coasts of Argentina and Chile.

Except for his savior, the penguin is never given to anyone else. The man has so much faith in him that he allows him to bathe him. Perhaps the penguin considers the man a member of his family. As soon as the bird sees his savior, he waggles his tail and lets out a joyful cry. The same way a dog does. For the sixth year in a row, he travels thousands of kilometers to Brazil only to spend the following 8-9 months with his rescuer.
