A Dog That Saved Its Owner’s Life Has Been Named South Korea’s First Honorary Rescue Dog

South Korea’s first lifeguard award went to a dog named Baekgu. His 90-year-old owner was saved from hypothermia by him.

The woman and her dog disappeared on August 25. This was captured by surveillance cameras around her home. Baekgu’s 90-year-old owner suffers from dementia, so her absence has terrified her family. It took the police almost 40 hours to find the woman after they started searching for her right away. Among rice fields, she was 2 kilometers from her house.

As a result of the rain, the woman’s garments became heavy, and she was unable to get up. Outside, it was bitterly cold. As a result of Baekgu’s refusal to abandon his mistress, she did not become frostbitten. As a result, the woman had to go to the hospital, and the dog was rewarded.

“Baekgu showed particular affection for my mother, and it seemed as if he was thanking us.” I was worried that my mum had gone missing for so long in the rain. I am grateful to Baekgu. She explained that he was part of her family.
