It has been three years since Hannah Rountree, 15, lost her pet cat. Spunky, a black and white pet, escaped while the family was on vacation.

After traveling across the district for more than a day, they were unable to locate him. Hannah was just 12 years old when Spunky vanished, but he remained in her heart forever, and she resolved to devote all of her free time to rescuing animals. When she was old enough, Hannah volunteered at a local shelter. On her second shift at Saving Grace Animal Adoption Center, she was eager to play with the kittens.

She never expected to run into her long-lost pet. She discovered Spunky. A strange black and white cat was sitting in a cage off to the side when the girl noticed it. It was unmistakably him, yet she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
Is this my cat? He reminds me a lot of Spunky! Recently transferred to a shelter, the cat was not yet accustomed to his new surroundings or looking for a new home.

However, this does not appear to be necessary anymore. A new – or rather, an old – home was discovered. Hannah’s story amazed the shelter’s employees, who found it unbelievable. It was necessary to find out how Spunky ended up in the shelter, and all the clues pointed to the same cat who vanished three years earlier. After being found on the street, Spunky was taken to the shelter, bathed, and released to good hands.

Despite this, he did not stay at the new house for long. Spunky was too kind and indolent for the job, so the owners returned him to the shelter. Spunky’s greatest achievement was his failure. Spunky was back in Hannah’s arms, and she was amazed at how serendipity brought them together again. A long-lost relative, Spunky was welcomed by Hannah and her family. Immediately, he shows her affection and acts as if he hadn’t left.
