Ukrainian Military Dogs Get New Homes

A beautiful service dog was left behind by the Russian troops when they left the hamlet. Many believe she was abandoned on purpose, while others believe she escaped on her own.

Following the dog’s arrival into the community and feeding, a local woman offered sanctuary to the dog and her German shepherd. After spending some time with Sima, the family’s German Shepherd, he became friends.

As soon as word spread that Valentina lived in the community, people began offering Valentina money for the trained assistance dog. She objected, however.

Her final decision was to give the dog to the Ukrainian army in the hope that they might find it useful. The puppy appeared to be in good condition, but its handler discovered a Russian collar that indicated its origin.

Max was the name he gave to the canine. The puppy has gotten along well with Riddick, his new owner, who will teach him Ukrainian commands. Max quickly gained the affection of the guards.
