Jacks Anderson and his wife stopped for lunch at the fried chicken stand last year when she noticed an audience. On the sidewalk under the stools at the counter, Poppy lay watching them eat.
Her eyes were fixed on them, but she did not approach them. The stall owners got out and chased her down the street. She fled, clearly scared.
The dog was spotted again after lunch. After noticing her large belly, they realized they had to try to help her. She picked up the dog and put him in the car. Eventually Poppy was in a safe and comfortable place.
Poppy was treated for fleas and worms at the vet. Fortunately, Poppy was quite healthy, so she was returned to Anderson’s care. The first days were spent alone with Poppy. The majority of the time, she slept on the couch. She has become much more active in the last few days, showing interest in other dogs and following me instead of sleeping. Poppy loves cuddles and affection from her humans, soaking up every bit of it. Poppy loves to be loved. Anderson says. When the time comes, Anderson and his wife know Poppy will be a great mother.
