Having decided to get a puppy, Daniel went to a local shelter to find one. With his head bowed, Zink, a golden retriever, sat.
Daniel wanted to keep the dog with all his heart. It took employees at the shelter to dissuade the man, saying that the retriever was “difficult to acclimate” because he flashed all of his teeth simultaneously and smiled strangely.
Zink, however, had a significant impact on Daniel for some reason. His decision was to give the dog a chance to lead a normal life. Following the paperwork, the man went to pick up the animal with the escort. A smile spread across Zink’s face.
Clearly, the dog was unable to grin. By flashing his fangs at them, he tried to catch their attention. Seeing Zink’s well-known grin, the owner’s confidence was restored.
As the retriever realized he could trust the owner and that this could be his forever home, he began to open up and become humorous.
