Eldad and two Hope for Paws team members attended Lisa Ashe’s funeral.

It was then that they learned about eight abandoned puppies. In remembrance of Lisa’s passion for animals, the team decided to save the young ones. It was impossible to find the mother, and the puppies were living in a cave. In order to get the puppies out, the team used a cheeseburger. The team was only able to locate six puppies at first.

A puppy eventually approached the rescuer and was placed in a crate. However, something had scared the other puppies in the meantime. Everyone else hid inside the cave as a result. Eldad was forced to rely solely on his gentle snare since he was unable to get any closer. The third and fourth puppies were rescued after the second puppy was rescued. It was also possible to save the infants in a similar manner. Puppies had never been touched by humans before, so they were terrified.

Each puppy’s crate was secured. The remaining infants, however, were difficult to save. The kids had walked further back through a deep, narrow tunnel about six feet north and twelve feet west. Eldad and the others dug a tunnel to get to where they were. A cave collapse could end the rescue mission, so they had to exercise caution. As soon as the women removed Eldad and the puppies, Eldad climbed into the cave and picked up each puppy one by one.

Despite their exhaustion after saving seven puppies, the rescuers still had one more to save. Having rescued the last puppy, Eldad entered the cave to see if there were any more puppies. Fortunately, the ninth puppy was also saved. The puppies were kept together at the rescuers’ facility. The following day, they met Olive, their surrogate mother. Each puppy was named Lisa M. Ashe. Their names were Luke, Isaac, Sarah, Abraham, Mary, Angel, Solomon, Heaven, and Ezekiel.
