This blind dog jumps for joy when he receives his own bed after spending 8 years in chains

Stevie was in a horrible state when workers from the Organization for the Protection of Animals (SPCA) in Lancaster County discovered him in South Carolina.

As a chained and half-blind man, his eyelids were dry and dismal. There is always hope for such loyal creatures’ lovers! The SPCA brought Stevie to Diamonds in the Ruff, a New York sanctuary that routinely works with the SPCA. Given what he had experienced over the previous eight months, finding him a loving foster family was a difficult task.

On the other hand, Erin Boyd and her husband have extensive experience working with overlooked living creatures, so they’re confident Stevie will make it. They were absolutely right! A very normal response for a dog who has spent his whole life laying in the rain and snow. However, he quickly recovered and appeared stronger and happier than ever before.

More exciting, though, was when Stevie’s foster mother surprised him with a brand-new mattress, everything he had never had before!
