An amazing sight was witnessed by Brent, a photographer: 76 ducklings behind one duck! It is possible for Merganser mothers to lay up to 15 eggs at a time.
Initially, Brent estimated there were about 50 ducklings. However, he had already numbered them in the image. A total of 76 ducklings were present, all of them almost the same age. A remarkable family’s fate was examined several times by Brent at the lake.
Even as the babies grew older, they remained close to their mother. Scientists from all over the world began debating a once-in-a-lifetime event. According to some, the duck adopted a number of broods whose parents had difficulties.
Some believe it’s a kindergarten duck and their grandmother. Besides giving birth to the first generation, her children also started the molting process, which causes the bird to wait on the beach because its feathers are not strong enough to protect it.
