Los Angeles dog Solo spent his entire life on the streets. He became too old and sick when he was 11 years old. In addition, he is completely deaf.
Solo was no longer able to survive outdoors. As soon as he reached the first residential building, he laid down on the threshold and waited for his owner. This house was inhabited by a woman and her family, who discovered Solo going out on the porch in the morning. (She gave him that name.)
After calling Rocket Dog Rescue, she arranged for the dog to be taken to San Francisco and placed in a shelter. Solo was taken into the family several times during the first 1.5 years, but always returned. It was unclear to the workers of the shelter why he was constantly given back. One day, luck smiled on the old man. Messina looked through the shelter’s website without intending to adopt a pet from there. But when she saw Solo, she knew he was hers!
“His eyes were so sad!” Messina says, “I immediately realized this dog would always be with me.”. Upon arriving in a new home, Solo walked with his tail between his legs and was terrified of everything. Whenever he touched the house he trembled, unable to believe that this would be the last place he would find happiness. A few months later, his teeth and hearing were in terrible shape, so he sought medical attention. His feelings changed as a result. It was finally time for Solo to smile!
He is now an infinitely happy dog. Due to his inability to hear when someone approaches, he wears a special suit that says: “Deaf dog In spite of the fact that she suddenly approaches him or enters the room, his new mother makes sure that he is not scared. As a result, he became much calmer and happier. Solo’s story inspires us to believe that it’s never too late to find love and happiness!
