A 7-year-old boy without a leg and a golden retriever without a paw become inseparable best friends

As a result of an infection, 4-year-old Paxton Williams lost his right leg a few years ago in Minnesota, USA. A real friendship has long been on his mind. Through his parents, he received a golden retriever without a right front paw, named Marvel.

Barb Felt, who breeds dogs, met the Williams family through mutual acquaintances. The boy’s therapist saw a post about a dog without a paw. She was looking for a loving home. A similar specialty patient was mentioned by the therapist to the breeder.

“When she (the dog – Marvel) was born, we immediately realized she had a special purpose. “We wanted the puppy to go to someone who also has a leg difference” – she explained. The boy’s dad, Blaine, recalls that it was love at first sight. On the floor, the kids played with Marvel, laughed, and laughed. “It was so touching and emotional. Stephanie, Paxton’s mom, said, “He kept repeating: ‘Good girl, good girl.'”

According to Paxton’s mother, the dog in the family increased his activity, which directly impacted his physical development. “He can tell other children, “Oh, she doesn’t have enough paws, she looks like me.”. “That gives him a voice to defend himself,” she said.

It is without a doubt that their special friendship will continue to grow. Currently, Marvel uses three legs, but she will be able to use a wheelchair or prosthetic if necessary.
