Bill Cannon was driving along the Van Wyck Expressway in Queens when he saw a kitten.
Only by some miracle was the ginger furball still alive under the wheels of passing cars. Bill later said in an interview on WCBS 880 radio that he stopped the car when he heard him meow in fear. He almost jumped under another car in fright when I reached out to grab him.”He then told his wife that he was bringing home a “surprise”.
“My beloved, you will either hate me or love me more,” he joked, although he wasn’t sure how she would react. His doubts were quickly dispelled.Bill decided to keep the kitten forever after such a warm welcome at home. Autumn was the name given to the kitten. He was taken to the vet the next day.
Aside from a slightly bruised nose and a slight limp, the baby was fine.
